"Responding to Change
with Creativity, Vitality, and Hope."

A retreat with Dan Keusal, M.S., LMFT
For the Dental Hygiene Faculty & Staff of
Seattle Central Community College
Saturday, September 22, 2012

Transition and change can evoke anxiety regardless of whether we think the change is “for the better” or “for the worse”—either way, we are moving from the known to the unknown. But, as Thomas Moore has written, “In ordinary life, creativity means making something for the soul out of every experience.” In this retreat, we’ll first look at how a deeper awareness of our past experiences of transition can shift our current reactions to change. We will then explore attitudes and practices that hold the power to renew and sustain us each day, inspiring hope as we create our future. Along the way we’ll draw on poetry, psychology, music, film and other disciplines as we craft an approach to our topic that speaks to the heart as well as the head.
