On November 6th I'll be delivering the conference's keynote address.
On November 7th I'll be offering this workshop:
"Caring for Patients, Caring for Self:
Mental Health Issues in Dental Hygiene."
In the midst of pressures to be clinically excellent and cost-effective, most of us long to bring another kind of presence to our work—a care and attention to the psycho-spiritual needs of our patients and ourselves. Drawing on psychology, film, poetry, music, literature, and more, we’ll explore attitudes and practices that hold the power to renew and sustain us…and those we serve. Along the way, we’ll rediscover what drew us to our work in the first place—the desire to be not just technicians, but healers.
