Are you having problems with your laptop, computer, printer, or cell phone...but find manuals, corporate help lines, and online help...not helpful? OR...Would you simply like to learn how to use your computer or cell phone better, but don't know where to start?
I can help. I can do it for you, or I can help you learn how to do it yourself. I can come to you, or you can come to my office. (see below for a list of some specific things I can help with). My fee is just $40/hour.
I specialize in working with therapists and other healers, but I'm open to working with other people if my skills are a good fit for your needs.
I understand what you're going through when you're having trouble with your computer, cell phone, or other technology. I'm not an engineer or a computer technician--I'm a psychotherapist! But over the last 20 years, I've learned by doing. I've learned to solve my own tech problems as they've come up, and I've learned how to use my computer and other technology to craft creative solutions for my business and personal needs.
This means I have the technical knowledge and diagnostic skills to figure out and solve your problem, or show you how to fix it yourself. And, either way, I'm good at explaining things in clear, non-technical, step-by-step fashion.
And I ENJOY all of this--I ENJOY helping people (especially therapists and other healers) feel better and more confident about how they use technology in the service of their own good work.

I'm best with PCs (Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, even a little Windows 8), but I've also helped several clients who use Apple/Macs/iPhones.
Some specifics I can help with:
Initial diagnostics, clean-up, and settings: we'll take a look at your computer, assess its current functioning, and find simple ways to "clean it up," to make it run faster and better. We can also customize your configurations and settings so your computer looks and works the way YOU want it to.
Security: I can help make sure your computer is protected from viruses, malware, and other threats by checking your anti-virus, firewall, Windows updates, and other security features, and making recommendations for improvement. I can also give you tips on how to avoid identity theft and other scams you may encounter in emails and on the web.
Basic tasks: learn how to use your computer or laptop to perform essential tasks like checking email, surfing the web, downloading, working with photos, creating documents, and more.
Cell phone/smartphone: Need help setting up your new smartphone? Want to learn how to use its many features (email, web, contacts, calendar, text messaging, camera/photos, "apps" and more)? Or how to sync contacts, calendar, photos, and more with your computer or your gmail or other accounts? I can help.
Backup: Want to make sure your documents, photos, and other files are safely backed up...so that if something goes wrong you don't "lose everything"? I can show you how to do this.
Can't find what you want when you want it?: I can teach you how to name and organize your files, and how to search for them, so you can find anything on your computer quickly and easily. This important skill, called "file management," can SAVE YOU LOTS OF TIME AND HASSLES...and it's often overlooked.
Error Messages: Has a particular error message or window popped up and you don't know what it means or what to do? I can help.
E-newsletters and email marketing: For the last 7 years, I've published the critically-acclaimed e-newsletter "Living With Purpose And Passion." I can help you get your message out and grow your practice with your own e-newsletter. I can coach you on both the technical "How To" and on ideas about content and marketing.
Software tutoring: I'm an expert in using Quicken, and I know Word, Excel, Outlook, iTunes, Adobe Acrobat, Firefox, PowerPoint, Picasa (and some other photo & image management software), and other software programs. If you want to learn to use any of these, I can help.
"How do I do THIS?": Here is where we move beyond "fixing" and "the basics"...and start using your computer to accomplish things that YOU want to do. Want to learn how to easily track your income and expenses? To customize and organize your photos? Create and print your own business cards? Make and use your own letterhead? Keep statistics and create interesting graphs and charts? Make lists that are sortable and searchable? Create documents that are functional AND good-looking (or fun? or professional?). This is where it can get FUN!
"The Wildcard": you may want to learn something, or solve some problem, that I haven't listed here; your ideas + my skills may be what it takes to get the job done.
Web site design: (NOTE: as it becomes increasingly important that web sites be "mobile responsive," i.e. that sites are designed in ways that make them more readable on smartphones and tablets, as well as computers, I'm putting my web-design services on "hold"...until I learn new software that incorporates this mobile responsive technology).
My fee? Just $40/hour. And I promise you this: I'll speak, work, and bill you...with integrity.
